Software Sales Director

DZone Software is looking for a competitive sales leader to build out and manage its SaaS sales organization!  We’re looking for someone with boundless energy and enthusiasm in building out a new sales structure and accelerating our growth!

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for building out and managing a sales team focused on hitting and exceeding our growth targets. This is a highly visible role that gives you the opportunity to exercise situational leadership, develop a team and be an integral part in the growth and success of DZone's software unit! 

As a sales manager, it’s your responsibility to define, measure and reinforce best sales practices by researching trends, staying up to date with competition and anticipating the company’s needs. You will set the tone for competitive nature, resilience and an emphasis on customer success as you manage and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth by hitting your individual and team targets and managing each team member to hit their quota. 
  • Report regularly on sales team metrics and forecast sales across new business, upsells, cross-sells, and professionals services. 
  • Design and implement data-driven business processes for sales that ensure the growth of the business using SalesForce.com.
  • Build a SaaS sales team that includes SDRs, AEs, and AMs to manage the entire customer lifecycle. 
  • Manage Staff through entire Sales Cycle – Lead Generation, Pipeline Management, and Closing – and when necessary, personally close deals.
  • Develop, mentor, coach, and train sales talent to help them increase productivity and grow in their careers. 

Experience

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in inbound and outbound sales, preferably for SaaS solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales management and/or a team lead role. 
  • Strong history of personal sales success as an individual contributor. 
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams to hit targets and individuals to hit quotas.
  • Experience collaborating closely with professionals and peers beyond the sales organization in Marketing, Customer Care, Engineering, etc.
  • Track record of building teams using business processes and training in a sales organization. 
  • Experience leveraging data to inform process and decisions, particularly with Salesforce.com.
